Hello friends! Hope your week is starting off well. Today's Tuesday Tape tip is stamping on the Japanese Masking Tapes. "Yes you can!" The washi tapes withstand heat very well which makes them ideal for stamping and embossing the images. Here's a quick tutorial on this technique.
I'll be using the following styles today:
Let's get started...
First place strips of the masking tapes on white heavy card stock.
Next stamp your image with black ink, I used Versafine Black Onyx and sprinkled clear embossing powder over the image. You can use Stayz On back ink if you don't want to emboss your image but I suggest embossing because the finished look is so much nicer.
I used a flower from Hero Arts Cling set
Here's the embossed image. Notice the tape is not wrinkled at all from the heat emboss. Now you're ready to cut out your image and create your card.
Here's my finished card. I layered some other styles of the masking tapes on the right side of the card and stamped a Hero Arts sentiment on the left. I added some pop dots behind the cut out images to add dimension and used some gems in the center of the flowers to draw out the yellow tape from behind the flowers.
This card took 25 mins from start to finish
I'd love to see your stamped images on the Japanese Washi Tapes so if you try this technique please link up your creations or email us at lovemytapes@gmail.com. Orders can be placed for these styles and more at our website Love My Tapes. There are no minimum orders for the Japanese Masking Tapes and we have 3 packs of our fabulous double sided adhesive.
Also check the list of stores that carry our products above and stay tuned for more stores coming soon!
Thanks for spending some time with us today!

Monday Fan Mail
Hello friends! I hope you had a fantastic weekend. Today's fan mail comes from Theresa Amlong. Theresa currently lives in Japan (lucky girl) and loves Japanese Masking Tapes she found at local stationary stores. Love My Tapes imports our masking tapes from Japan so you can enjoy creating with them on your projects here in the U.S.
Theresa sent us a link to her blog with some fabulous layouts she created and a fun tutorial using the masking tapes. Here's a little bit about Theresa:
Konichiwa! Hi, I’m Theresa. I’m a Florida resident who currently lives in Japan. I love tooling around Japan with my husband taking photographs of the usual, the unusual, and even the mundane. When I’m not busy teaching English as a Second Language, I can be found enthusiastically creating in my scrapbook room. I love to inspire others to scrapbook and encourage the belief that there is truly no right or wrong way to go about it. I share my love of scrapbooking by teaching classes locally, writing for Mosaic Moments and hosting a website with my girlfriends called Creative Scrapbooking Divas. I frequently comb Japanese stationery stores for new finds to incorporate into my scrapbooks. Dimensional Japanese stickers, origami shapes, gorgeous washi papers and fabulous washi tape continually find their way onto my scrapbook pages! My creative goals are to continue exploring new paper crafting techniques; learning as much as I can; and inspiring others to recognize their own creativity. I also love to make new friends, so please drop by my blog Sunshine Memories and say hello!
Here's a look at Theresa's layouts
I love how Theresa used multiple strips of the masking tapes for a background on this layout. Make sure you stop by Theresa's blog Sunshine Memories to see her fabulous flower tutorial on how she made this fun embellie for her layout.
Once again Theresa layered the tapes on this layout and I love the pop of yellow. A big thanks to Theresa for sharing your work and passion for Japanese Masking Tape with us!
We enjoy featuring our fan mail artwork with our double sided adhesives or Japanese Masking Tapes. Drop your fan mail to us at LoveMyTapes@gmail.com and you could be featured on Monday Fan Mail.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Monday Fan Mail
Good Morning! Hope you all had a great weekend! I got some more fan mail this weekend from Bobbi Miller, one of our giveaway winners. She created a cute recipe book project with Love My Tapes and sent us some pics to show
Soo Cute Bobbi! We're thrilled you like our double sided adhesive as much as we do! MSRP for our tape runners are 3.99! That's a great value for 33 feet of strong double sided adhesive that won't break or gum up and you get a full strip of glue with each swipe. And as Bobbi reviewed, it's great for holding ribbon.
Bobbi also posted a review on her blog Bobbi's Hobbies about what she thought of Love My Tape's double sided adhesive. Here's a bit of her review:
Just want to say that I do love this adhesive. It worked on ribbon which is my biggest problem. I just could not find anything that would hold down ribbon that well. If I used a liquid adhesive I would have to sit there and hold the ribbon in place until it dried. I also tried to run my ribbon through the little Xyron and it would not stick to the full length of the ribbon. I ran this adhesive along various ribbon for my projects and placed it down and it stayed plus it is clear tape so even on the gauzy ribbon you could barely see it. I used this adhesive to put paper on chipboard and it stayed in place. I will be going back for more of this adhesive.
Thank you so much for sending us your work. We've started a list with links of retail stores carrying Love My Tapes so you can look for a store near you. Thanks for stopping by today!

Designer Spotlight! Lisa Spangler
Hello friends! We're really excited to be featuring Lisa Spangler on the Love My Tapes blog today! If you're a fan of Hero Arts stamps then you've seen Lisa's work on the Hero Arts Club blog.
Lisa lives in Austin Texas and enjoys many crafty hobbies which include crochet, cardmaking, stamping, sewing, felt, cooking and photography.
Lisa's work is so inspiring. She has an amazing eye for color and style not to mention she's a really talented card maker. I was checking out her blog, sideoats & scribbles and came across some of her artwork with Japanese masking tapes and was blown away. There really isn't a lot of work out there in blog land with the tapes because they are such a new trend so it was exciting to see that Lisa loves the masking tapes as much as we do. Here's a look at some of her work
I love how she incorporated the spring colors of light tapes into this fantastic card
I also like how she layered several different tapes to create a wonderful plaid pattern. Lisa has a special post on her blog today with a card she made using more of the Japanese Masking Tape. Stop by and take a look at her card here
If you've spotted something fabulous created with Japanese Masking Tapes leave a link on this post I'm always looking for new projects to showcase on the blog.
Have a great day!

Tuesday Tape Tip
It seems the Japanese masking tapes are taking off as a current trend. Last week Megan Hoeppner posted some of her ideas for masking tapes on her blog and featured Love My Tapes on the Studio 5 morning show.
Here's an idea for our Tuesday Tape Tip...use your masking tapes to make borders on your scrapbooking layouts.
This layout features the Live Loud collection by Imaginisce. This design is perfect for adding tape borders to accent.
The striped tapes are great for decorating card stock because the are transparent and the color shows through the tape. And they are re-positional so if you don't get your line straight you can lift it up without tearing your card stock and place it back down smoothly.
I'd love to see the borders you create with your Japanese Masking tapes so link them up here to this post. We might just feature your projects on the blog for our fans to see!

Tuesday Tape Tip!
Hi friends. It' time for another Tuesday Tape Tip. I was cleaning out the kitchen last night and found this class jar without a top and was about to throw it out when I realized how fun it would be to decoupage the jar with our masking tapes. And so this idea was born...
The flowers are made from placing strips of the tape on cardstock and using a Sizzix die to cut them into shapes...Super easy.
Start with whatever styles you'd like to use for your flowers
Then make strips on the card stock like this
The run them thru the Cuttlebug with the Sizzix die
And you have lots of flowers
For the center of the flowers I used the new button daddies from Imaginisce. I threaded the floral wire through the back and then through the center if the die cut flowers.
And then you have this result.
Oh and I want to make sure to include a close up of the re-purposed jar.
This project took me an hour total. I hope you enjoyed the pics and if you have any questions just leave them here and I will be sure to answer you.
Thanks for stopping by!
