You Are Fabulous

Hi Love My Tape fans!

Kathy Martin here with a project share for you using some fabulous fabric tape.

The card I created for last week also included fabric tape, for a shabby chic design, and this week I'm pairing the fabric tapes with some brightly colored and whimsical patterned papers.

I love how versatile these tapes are, that they work beautifully for both styles.

And how they add texture to my projects!

Can you think of another design style you would use fabric tape for?

Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative week!

Home Sweet Home Tag....

Happy Wednesday Love My Tapes friends!  Tina here today with a extra sized tag using fabric tape as wallpaper.  Say what??  Did I say wallpaper?  Yup, you heard me right!  :)

I love creating this extra sized tags.  They are like mini canvases and are different than cards or layouts.  I really enjoy pulling out bits and pieces from my stash and some Love My Tapes tapes to create these little happy pieces of fun!

I wanted to create a mini Living Room scene on my tag, so I started with the background.  I created an old cracked wall look by using spray mist and a crackle stencil to create the background of the tag.

Using the Brown Striped fabric tape, I created a wallpaper look on the bottom of the card and added a sticker to create a wallpaper border.

To complete the mini living room scene, I pulled out some leftover chipboard and die cut pieces from Crate Paper's Farmhouse collection and adhered in place.  Viola!  And it's done!

Pull out your leftover stash and create some tags!  I would love to see your creations.  Please share them on Facebook!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great Monday!

Fabric Tape

Hello!

Did you know that Love My Tapes not only carries gorgeous washi tapes, but they also have beautiful fabric tapes too? You knew that right? Well, today I thought I'd create a card using a few fabric tape styles.

Fabric tape is perfect for shabby chic projects, don't you think?

Whenever I create something with a vintage flair, I always toss in some old mother of pearl buttons.

With fabric you must have stitching!

Can you spot all four fabric tapes I used?

I hope you enjoyed today's project!

Welcome Ashley and Mary Ann!!

Hello Love My Tape Friends!  We have a very exciting announcement today!  We are adding to our Design Team family.  Please welcome Ashley Horton and Mary Ann Jenkins as our newest Design Team members!

Want to know a little more about them??

ASHLEY HORTON

Hi, my name is Ashley Horton! I am a wife, mom of 3, SAHM, HomeSchool Teacher, and Scrapbooker (not always in that order!!). I was introduced to Scrapbooking in 2006 and fell in love.

When I first started, I usually printed my own papers, used stickers, and created a lot of my own embellishments. I have definitely come a long way since then and I enjoy getting at least 1-3 pages done per week. I am a traditional Scrapbooker and always do 12x12 layouts. One of my favorite Scrapbooking supplies is...Patterned Paper!! I also love buttons and adding hand stitching to my pages. Washi Tape has also found it's way into my heart, and I ended up buying almost 20 rolls within a month's time period!! :)

I have been published in Creating Keepsakes magazine, ScrapStreet magazine, and Scrapbook News & Review magazine. I am currently serving on the Get It Scrapped Creative Team, Frosted Designs, ScrapFIT, ScrapHappy Pensacola (LSS), and I am a Moderator at Club Creating Keepsakes. Along with Scrapbooking, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, reading, and watching movies.
You can check out Ashley's work on her blog:  The Paper Doll.

MARY ANN JENKINS

I’m Mary Ann Jenkins from sunny Southern California. I have 3 awesome boys, 1 sweet little princess, and a wonderful husband that are the subjects of many of my scrapbook layouts. I love recording the memories and stories we create in our everyday lives.
I’ve been scrapping since 1986, when I heard a commercial on the radio about learning to preserve family memories. A few patterned papers and decorative scissors later I was hooked, and never imagined scrapbooking would become a passion, or that I would have a room in my home dedicated to the hobby.
When I am not in my scrapbook studio making a mess I enjoy: flea markets, spending time with my family, shopping for hours at Target, taking my camera everywhere I go, and bracelets. A girl can never have too many bracelets!!
I’m excited to be part of the Design Team here at Love My Tapes, and to be able to share my work with you.

You can check out Mary Ann's work on her blog:  I Rock Paper and Scissors.

Welcome Ladies!  We are so excited to have you as part of the LMT Design Team!

Love

Hi! Kathy Martin here with a card share for all you washi tape lovers.

Can you tell the pinwheel is made from washi too?

To create it, I just applied a few strips of tape to a piece of clear vellum and used a My Cat's Pajamas die, but you could easily make the pinwheel without a die.

Hope you enjoyed the card and have a crafty good day!

Fabric Tape Flower Love!

Hi Love My Tape friends!  Tina here today with a layout that I created for CHA and with our August LMT Challenge!

I wanted to create a fast and simple layout that really showcases a super easy technique - creating custom flowers out of fabric tape.

I used the following fabric tapes for my flower:

Wild Flowers, Lily

To create the flower, use an extra large Gluber or a large glue dot or piece of adhesive.  Cut pieces of fabric tape approx. 2 1/2 - 3 inches long, keeping the adhesive backing attached.

After you cut your pieces (approx 20-30 strips - depending on how full you want your flower), began assembling the flower.

Remove approx 1/4 inch of the adhesive backing from the end of a piece of tape, fold the strip in half and adhere the tape to itself.

Attach the piece to the Gluber or large glue dot.

Continue layering the strips of tape around the glue dot until satisfied with the shape of your flower.

Add a flower shaped sticker and button, with twine, to the tape flower and adhere to your project.  Easy peasy, huh?

Ready to hear about the August Challenge?  Here are the details:

1.  Create a layout or card that includes a flower (or two or three) made from lace, fabric, and/or washi tape.
2.  The challenge is open until August 29th
3.  A randomly chosen winner will win some LMT goodies.
4.  Link up your projects below.

Make sure and participate as I am looking for future Love My Tape Guest Designers.  Link up your Challenge projects here and share your other LMT projects on our Facebook page.

We can't wait to see your LMT flowers.
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Back to School

Hello Love My Tapes fans! It's Kathy Martin here with a project share for you.

Have your kids gone back to school yet? My son Christopher, who just started middle school, is now going year-round and his track started July 9.

With the buses rumbling down our street once again, I'm reminded of how much Christopher loves them and how I've been wanting to do a page about his school bus chart.

He's kept this chart for a few years that lists bus types and numbers.

The larger photo is the bus that picked him for kindergarten many moons ago and the second picture is him boarding the bus a couple weeks ago for middle school. My how time flies!

Thanks for stopping by today!
