Tuesday Tape Tip
Hello tape fans! For today's Tuesday Tape Tip we're going to show you how to use our double sided tape and crepe paper to create a fun technique for your cards. Sometimes you don't have the right supplies for a project and that's why I love the creative process. When in doubt think outside the box. Just about everyone has bought crepe paper for party decor but have you used it for paper crafting? I always find crepe paper in big double rolls at Big Lots for 99 cents and in a variety of colors.
I happen to stock up on white because if I need a certain color I can use Glimmer Mist to easily transform the white to any color I need for my project. For today's project we are sticking with white.
Here's the card I created with our double sided adhesive, Paper Doll collection by Crate Paper and some crepe paper
So to get started I have 3x5 1/2 piece of cardstock that I used an EK Success border punch to add scallops.
We hope you'll try this tip with your Love My Tapes adhesive and be sure and send us a pic if you do for our Feature Fridays. For more info on how you can be spotlighted on the Love My Tapes blog click here.
If you haven't tried our adhesive yet please visit our online store are Love My Tapes.com. We have a great special for multi packs of the doubles sided adhesives right now.

Line your border punched side with the adhesive. See how our adhesive goes on in a smooth full strip of glue...love that!
Next add some adhesive to your strip of crepe paper. Mine is 24 inches in length tho I did not use it all but yours will vary by the size of your pleats
Start folding the crepe paper towards you, the folds can be big or small...whatever your preference.
Now you're ready to assemble your card and voila! My finished card size is 4 1/4 X 5 1/2

HERE'S THE STORY.....
In the summer of 2009, my phone rang and I heard my
sister's voice on the other end say,
"Hey Coll, wanna buy a Scrapbook Store".
That's where it all began. A few days later, we were in business.
I've heard from countless people, "working with family has to be tough" or "I could never work with my sister". But for us, it was a dream come true. Spending time together is something we've always enjoyed. Ever since the day I can home from the hospital and Nora Anne asked our Mom if my crib could be in her room. Before long, she was sneaking in there to sleep next to me. We've been close ever since.
So, buying this store was sudden and out of the blue, but 7 months later, we are happy and learning new things every day.
We look forward to many years of creating, crafting, and laughing with each one of you. We love sharing your photos and helping you to make them into treasured memories.
xx- Colleen and Nora Anne

Trend watch: Banners
Banners are a hot trend in scrapbooking and card making that isn't going out of style anytime soon. We see them incorporated into many projects posted on message boards and gallerys at many different scrapbooking sites and blogs. Japanese masking tapes are perfect for making great banners. It's easy to create many types of banners with the tapes, just cut a strip and fold it over twine or string. Once you have the tape on the line, cut it into a V or leave it as a square. What's great about masking tape is that you can move it around easily once you place it on the twine. Either way you'll create a fun embellishment for your project! Check out this fun card from Joscelyne Cutchens
Joscelyne (Joscie, rhymes with bossy) Cutchens has been crafty for most of her life. She has dabbled in creating hand made papers, sewing, screen printing, book binding and beading but her true passion is in photography, computers and paper crafts. Joscie says that Hybrid crafting is a great way to incorporate all of her passions in one hobby. For more of Joscelyne's work visit her blog Oh Scrap!

Designer Spotlight Wednesday
Hello friends! It's Designer Spotlight Wednesday and today we're shining our spotlight on another talented My Little Shoebox Design Team Member...Gretchen McElveen
Hi! I am Gretchen McElveen. I live in Alabama with my husband and our dog. No kids for us yet…but soon! I work full time as a physical therapist in an outpatient clinic but of course I would rather be scrapbooking! My aunt introduced me to scrapbooking by way of Creative Memories during college but I did not really get into it until after we got married in 2002. I still have the corner rounder that I bought during that first Creative Memories party though! Scrapbooking is such an incredible hobby! It is my creative outlet and my way of documenting life and the special people who are such a big part of it. I cannot think of a much better way of spending my free time!
In addition to My Little Shoebox, Gretchen also designs for Ki Memories and Kenner Road. You might have also seen her recent work in here
She has an adorable mini album featured in the latest special edition of Creating Keepsakes magazine. It was also featured in Lisa Bearnson's blog this week. Exciting!

Tuesday Tape Tip
Hello Tape Fans! It's Tuesday and time for another fabulous tape tip. If this is your first time visiting us, each Tuesday we showcase a unique tape tip for either our Japanese Masking Tapes or our super fabulous, super strong double sided adhesive. This week's Tape Tip comes from Joanne Nishimitsu:
I'm Joanne Nishimitsu from Mililani, Hawaii. I'm a Wife to Marc, Mommy to Emily Jay, and I'm also a full-time Social Worker at a local Hospice Care Agency.
I've been crafting all my life, but now working in career that can sometimes be very emotional and personal-- crafting is my outlet and stress relief! Some of my other hobbies include: photography, art journaling, shopping, collecting vintage deer and owls, learning new things, and personal growth.
I love finding new mediums to craft with, and find that Japanese Masking Tape is so versatile and fun! I always say, "What can't you do with Japanese Tape?!?!"
Thank You!
Joanne Nishimitsu
We spotted Joanne's masking tape project on her blog last week and asked her to share it with us for Tuesday's Tape Tip. She created an altered wood photo frame using 5 different patterned Japanese Masking Tapes.
The design is simple and easy to recreate. Joanne gives her instructions on the photo below
Supplies: frame available at most craft stores
