Tuesday Tape Tip

Good morning! Today's Tuesday Tape Tip is a tutorial using glitter. Our double sided adhesive is perfect for creating your own glitter borders on your projects. The adhesive holds glitter really well and it doesn't shake off once you apply.

Supplies: Love My Tapes Adhesive, cardstock and glitter.

Start with a strip of adhesive on your card stock. I wanted to make my border thick so I used 3 strips of adhesive show below. Notice that our adhesive doesn't break and that you get full strips of glue when you swipe the applicator.

Next sprinkle your glitter generously. I used Martha Stewart silver glitter for my project.

Next shake off the excess glitter to reveal your glitter border.

I stood the card stock up and laid some white doilies down so you could see that the glitter was adhered to the card stock well with no flaking or mess. Notice no excess glitter. We love that!

And our finished project.
There are a variety of borders you can create using glitter and with so many colors the possibilities are endless.
If you decide to give this project a try link up your creations to this post so we can take a look or upload them to our new Flickr group here.
Thanks for stopping by for Tuesday's Tape Tip!

Supplies:

For this card she used the masking tape as a border:
Supplies:
Stamp: Papertrey Ink Delightful Dahlia, Background Basic Petal Power

Here's Vera's Product Review:
What I found with the 3rd card is Love My Tapes double sided adhesive works great with tissue paper. It's awesome, because considering how thin tissue paper is, it will show whatever underneath it, but not with Love My Tapes double sided adhesive. For my 3rd card, I layered the tissue paper 3 times and for each layer I used the double sided adhesive and you couldn't see it at all. It blends in perfectly.

Basically, for this past week, all my cards on my blog that required layering, I used Love My Tapes double sided adhesive. Even though it's permanent, it's still forgiving. After I glued the layer down, if I need to, I can still repositioning it without tearing the papers, and after a while it sets permanently.

And I think one of my favorite things about the double sided adhesive is to use it to attach ribbons. It also worked well for the small button, too.

We'd like to thank Vera for her beautiful designs and honest feedback about our products.
If you'd like to try our doubles sided adhesive or masking tapes, visit our online store are Love My Tapes.com. We have a great special for multi packs of the doubles sided adhesives right now.

Meet Vera Wirianta Yates

Hello Monday! This week we're welcoming our 1st product tester...

Vera Wirianta Yates

Vera was chosen as one of our product testers and we're excited to be sharing a little bit about her :
Hi'ya, my name is Vera Wirianta Yates. My family and close friends often call me by my nickname Ling, thus the name of my blog, Ling's Design Studio. I am a scrapbooker and card maker. I consider myself a paper addict who love colors & stamping. :) Currently, I work full time as purchasing coordinator for a home builder company in Houston. And, as you can guess, on my free time you can find me in my scrapbook room. I used to teach scrapbook and card making classes and am hoping that one of these days, I can go back to teaching as I just love the feeling and I enjoy meeting new people. My first publication was as design team member for a card magazine called Simply Sentiment back in 2004. My card style tends to be simple and clean. You can check my work on my blog: www.lingshappyplace.blogspot.com

We sent Vera some of our double sided adhesive and Japanese Masking Tape to work with and she created these beautiful samples

Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Inkpad: Papertrey Ink
Tape: Love My Tapes Washi tape
Adhesive: Love My Tapes

Vera stamped her image on the akane masking tape and embossed the image with white embossing powder to create this flower on her card.

Stamp: Penny Black
Ribbon: American Craft
Tape: Love My Tapes Washi tape
Adhesive: Love My Tapes

For her second card, Vera used the masking tape as a border behind her stamped image.
Thank you Vera for your beautiful creations! We'll be featuring some more of Vera's work next Monday so be sure to come back and see what she has in store for us then.

More inspiration from Sarah Martina Parker

Happy Friday! We're back with a few more cards from Sarah Martina Parker. It's been so great having her join us here at Love My Tapes this week! Sarah's projects have been so inspiring and I love that she showed a variety of ways to use the masking tapes.
I love getting feedback on our products and Sarah let me know she was also impressed with how strong our double sided adhesive is and the fact that it holds ribbon beautifully! Like I'm always saying...."this adhesive is fantastic!!"
Here's a look at the rest of Sarah's designs

Enjoy this Day

I love that she layered the tape on card stock and used a die cut to create this butterfly for the center of her card

Congrats

This card is so fun! The tapes are layered behind the die cut in a window fashion and she added rhinestones to the tape design too!
Just stunning! We'd like to thank Sarah for hanging out with us this week and creating such stunning cards!

Designer Spotlight: Sarah Martina Parker

Hello Thursday! Sorry to be posting late today but I had a busy morning today. We're excited to have Sarah Martina Parker designing some fabulous cards with our double sided adhesives and Japanese Masking Tapes this week! Here's a card she sent me today

I love that she layered the masking tape and used a die template to cut it. Fantastic idea! I also love the color scheme she chose as well! So cute!

Here's a closer look at the tape border. Sarah used Himawari on this card. This style comes in a 2 pack with akane (yellow style below)
I love these styles because you can add some pearl or rhinestones to the centers of the designs to add dimension.
If you like these masking tapes be sure and visit our store LoveMyTapes.com All of the styles of masking tape are 55 feet of tape! That's a lot of projects!

Tuesday Tape Tip with Sarah Martina Parker

I've got a treat for you today! This week's Tuesday Tape tip comes to us from the beautiful and talented Sarah Martina Parker...

I am Sarah Martina Parker. Wife. Mother. Full time bank employee (Zzzzz… lol!). Part time law student. There’s more, but I don’t want to ramble.

I LOVE my hubby and kids. I couldn’t have wished for a better family to be surrounded with. Then of course, my other love – crafts! The word alone makes me drool :-) . I also love to eat… and cooking, well, I only like to do the fun stuff… like cupcakes.

Sarah is an amazing Designer who's cards have been published in several card and craft magazines including Paper Crafts newest Special Issue Go to Sketches

Sarah's Tape tip is to use Japanese Masking Tapes to create designs on your cards like she did on this sweet Thank You card

I love how she created a zig zag border with the masking tape across the front of her card. Most of the time when we use tape we paste it in a straight line across the card or from top to bottom. I knew when I asked Sarah to work with our tapes I knew she'd inspire us to think outside of the box.

If you'd like to see more of Sarah's amazing cards please visit her blog Designs by Sarah Martina.
Thursday we'll be featuring more of Sarah's designs so be sure and come back for more amazing inspiration!

Spring is in the air...

The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the flowers are blooming everywhere. I love making different types of flowers out of patterned paper and our double sided adhesive is perfect for holding layer upon layer of card stock beautifully. It also holds ribbon and different fibers well too like the pom pom accent on the card featured above.

Here's a quick and easy layered flower tutorial.

You'll need a Slice to copy this exact example, I used the Basics 2 cartridge. You can also use any flower shaped die cut template

First I cut 2 3" flowers, 2 2 1/2" flowers and 1 2" flower.

Next use some distress ink to ink the edges

Next run a strip of Love My Tapes double sided adhesive across the middle of each die cut and layer the flowers from largest to smallest.

Next bend each petal upwards and play with the shape until you are happy with the way your flower looks.

Here's a side view

Next add some bling to the center of the flower. I chose to mix pearls and rhinestones.

Here's the finished flower...ready to add to a layout, card or project.

Supplies you'll need:
Crate Paper Paper Doll collection :Emma
Slice Die Cutting Machine
Slice Basic Shapes 2 Cartridge
Love My Tapes Double Sided Adhesive
Tim Holtz Distress Ink :Vintage Photo
Tim Holtz Blending tool
Recollections Pearls
Queen and Co Rhinestones
