Enjoy the little things - Washi Tape Card

Hello everyone Lisa here with another fun project using our new Washi Tapes!

Before I show you my project today I wanted to say that this will be my last post as part of the Love My Tapes Design Team.  The last year has been so fabulous and I have really enjoyed being part of the Design Team, making new friends, sharing inspiring ideas and working with the amazing Love My Tapes products. It was not an easy decision to make and I thought long and hard about continuing as part of the Design Team, but in the end decided to move on.  I wish all the remaining Design Team members all the best, and good luck to the new individuals enjoying the team!

Ok with that out of the way on to my card!

I wanted to make something cute & fun with the Washi Tapes, not a style I normally gravitate towards, but hey when the mood strikes you have to go with it.  I know the Polaroid look is fairly popular right now and decided to make a fun little Polaroid scene using Washi Tape (of course), cardstock, chipboard and some dies.

I started by making the sky background by adding strips of Washi Tape over white cardstock.  Then I covered a chipboard circle with layers of the Green Polka Dot Washi Tape.  The butterflies & bird are covered with the Red Argyle Washi Tape.  For the clouds I again covered white cardstock with more Washi Tape and cut them out with a Memory Box cloud die.

Before I go I want to thank everyone for the support and wonderful comments!  I wish Love My Tapes and the Design Team all the best!

Welcome Our New Designers!

Hello! We want to wish the warmest welcome to the two newest members of our design team! Please join us in welcoming them.

First up is Kathy Martin. Here is a little about Kathy...

My name is Kathy Martin and I've been paper crafting since 2003. My husband and I just celebrated 20 years of marriage in April and have an 11 year old son named Christopher. When I'm not playing with paper and washi tape, you can usually find me in the kitchen cooking a new recipe or baking our favorite dessert. I also love to read, spend time in the garden and go  treasure hunting for vintage goods.

And be sure to check out Kathy's Blog for lots of inspiration.

And, Tina Walker..

I created my first scrapbook over 15 years ago, but my latest obsession with paper crafting started about 3 years ago and I haven't stopped since.  I think I am drawn to this art because of the great styles, techniques, and product that are used  today and that all styles are embraced and loved. I think tapes; washi, paper, and lace are a fun and fresh way to add dimension and texture to your projects.  I like to experiment and try new ideas, so you might see those happy mistakes on my projects.  I often get asked what my scrapbook style is.  A good pre-defined definition doesn't exist, so I like to use the word 'chameleon'.  You might see pages from me that encompass the meaning of 'white space' all the way to an artsy, grungy page. Many of my layouts are of my two French bulldogs, Moose & Flikka.  My kids are grown, so they don't cooperate much with my photo taking and scrapbooking obsession, so the next best things are my four legged friends.  In addition, you might also see layouts from me of totally random and obscure objects or everything things.  These things intrigue me and I love to scrap about them.  Scrapbooking also allows me to share my other obsession, photography.  They go hand in hand with each other.  My phone, (with camera) are always with me and I take a picture almost every day.
And be sure to check out Tina's Blog.

Welcome ladies, I can't wait to see what beautiful creations you come up with!

"Nap Time?" - scrapbook layout with Washi Tape on kraft, chipboard & gesso

Hi Love My Tapes fans!  JJ here again, with another layout featuring washi tape.

Little strips of washi tape make a fun border or mat for a photo:

Do you still have gobs of raw chipboard in your stash like I do?   Larger shapes are super easy to cover with washi tape, giving them a whole new look.  Just peel & stick, and wrap the tape around the edges.  It has a little bit of flexibility, making this a simple job without the hassle of smoothing out a ton of wrinkles:

Gift Card Holder With Washi Tape

Hi friends!  It's Ashley from Heart Hugs Designs here to share a project with you today.

I made this gift card holder to give to my husband.  I used Love My Tapes Washi Tape #920 on this.  I decided to keep it pretty simple because my husband appreciates cleaner cards.  We've had this discussion on more than one occasion.  I just used a little bag, put some twine on it, stuck it to the card (so I can write a note inside), and added the sentiment with alphabet stickers.
Have a great day, friends!

Washi Tapes and scraps

Hey bloggers Rita Barakat here!
I am loving all the *washi tapes out there! Of course mine are
from Love My Tapes and happen to match these
fun papers from Ta Da Creative Studios perfectly!
I love all these bright, fun colors!
Reminds me of a birthday!
This is also an easy way to use up any scraps you have laying around-
the tape simply ties it all together!
 Here's another look!
*These tapes are not available in the store yet but coming soon!
Happy scrapping!

Embellish with Washi!

Hello Love My Tapes friends & fans!  I have a layout for you today highlighting some of the new Washi tapes!

Washi tapes partnered with your die cut machine are a great way to make some custom embellishments!  I cover a scrap of white paper then used my dies to make the butterflies & heart.  A few random strips here and there were added for a little extra punch.

Thanks for stopping by!

Funky Birthday card with Washi Tape

Hello Love My Tapes fans. JJ here, with a funky little birthday card.

To make these little faces, I wrapped washi tape through paper clips, then trimmed it with scissors and a whole punch (for the 'eye').  The hardest part is choosing the colours.  ;)

This is a technique you might want to try with your kids - it's kind of fun to create little characters.

You are my Style

Hello my friends! Giovana here bringing you a Vintage card, super easy to make. I started my card with Ivory Cardstock, cut a panel from Ivory cardstock as well and stamps the image in  Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and the sentiment in Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. I cut a couple of strips of Beige Lace Tape and ink all edges with Frayed Burlap Ink, then added it to the cut panel. Then I added little and medium pearls.

Hope you like it.
Have a great day!
