LOVE MY TAPES/AUTHENTIQUE PROJECT INSPIRATION
FALL BLOG HOP

Love My Tapes and Authentique Paper are getting crafty over the next couple of days to bring you tons of inspiration using Love My Tapes and Authentique Paper!
To get you into the holiday spirit, we will be sharing projects from the LMT DT on the Love My Tapes blog, and the Love My Tapes Design Team will be sharing additional projects with you on their blogs with a Fall Blog Hop.

Welcome to Day Two of project sharing!  If you missed day one, be sure and check it out!  We will be sharing more projects tomorrow, so be sure and stop back.
Today, in celebration of Halloween, the DT created some spooky fun cards, with great ways to use your Love My Tapes!

First up is Kathy.  Kathy created an adorable Halloween card using – 'Enchanted' by Authentique and the ‘Black/Grey Stripe' washi Tape by Love My Tapes.  Isn't it fantastic how Kathy created a little POW of color with the washi tape?  These are a match made in heaven.
Here's what Kathy had to say about her card:
This Authentique 'Enchanted' collection was truly a treat to work with! I love layering elements and lots of texture on my projects so the assortment of stickers in this line were perfect for doing that! It's also pretty awesome that no matter what color scheme or theme I'm working with, I can always find a Love My Tapes style that will work seamlessly.

Next up is Annette, our October Guest Designer.  She created an wonderful card that is just perfect for Halloween.

Don't you love how she created a little banner with the washi tape?

She used 'Enchanted' by Authentique, and 'Blk/White Stripe' washi tape by Love My Tapes.

Here's what Annette had to say about her card:
Creating this card using Authentique Enchanted and Love My Tapes washi tape was spooky fun. I created a few flags out of the collection and washi tape to created a layered look. Then added a few of the Authentique Enchanted details and finished it up with some trimmings and a washi tape bottom border.

Today, we will be sharing a couple of layouts by the LMT DT.
First up is Rita.  She combined several of our favorite collections – 'Genuine' by Authentique and the ‘With Love’ Washi Tape by Love My Tapes.  Don’t these look fabulous together?

Next up is Mary Ann.

She is getting us ready for Halloween tomorrow with a fantastic layout, featuring herself.  :)  Isn't she sweet?  She combined the wonderful Halloween collection, 'Enchanted',  and the 'Black Lace' washi tape by Love My Tapes.

Here's what Mary Ann had to say about her layout...
I just love the Enchanted collection from Authentique, and especially love how well it worked with these "vintage" photos from 1970, and the vintage looking washi tape! I did some layering with the cute stickers, and added in a strip of washi behind my photos. Truth be told, I was too afraid that year to go trick-or-treating, so the night before Halloween I had some of the neighborhood kids over to carve pumpkins. It's definitely a Halloween I want to remember, so I added a little pocket to the back of the layout and included the story about Halloween the year I was 6 years old. Oh the memories

That is just a warm up.  Hopefully you are ready for some more Love My Tape and Authentique ispiration.  Let’s start the HOP.  Shall we?

Washi to the Rescue!

Hi friends, it's Mary Ann here with you today!

I've been seeing these really cute wreaths made out of patterned paper, and wanted to make one too. I started with the design I would use in the center, finished it, set it aside and went on to the actual wreath part. I had everything all ready to put together and realized the orange in my papers did not go with the orange crepe paper in the center piece. Now what?   Washi to the rescue!!!

To tone down the orange on my patterned paper pieces, I added a strip of washi to cover some of the orange color.  It made such a difference, and looked like I had planned it from the beginning!!  Just one more reason to love the washi tape ;)

All in all, for being the first wreath I've made, it turned out pretty cute! I may even try making another one at Christmas time.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

October Guest Designer - Annette Allen, Pt.2

Hello and Happy Wednesday Friends!

Tina here today with another installment of our Guest Designer series and today we are again featuring Annette Allen who has graciously shared her talents with us.

Here's what she has to say about her project today.

So happy to be here again guest designing.

I thought it would be fun to create a fun Halloween card. I wanted to create a fun design using this tape.

I decided to create a over lapping layer with the washi tape. Once I started making this card I thought of it as a dark road with a scary mummy but still fun. I also did it at the top creating a dark sky.

When I design my cards I like to think of scenes. It might only be seen my me but this is how my creations come together.

I hope that I have inspired you to think out of the box when creating your next scene on a card or layout.

I hope you have enjoyed Annette and her talents this month.  I know we have!

Remember, we are always looking for Guest Designers, so play along with our monthly challenges and share your projects on our Facebook Wall.  You never know when you might get that email.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day.

It's Halloween Time!

It's Mary Ann here today with a cute gift that's quick and easy to make!
To start, I filled a glass (La Victoria Salsa) jar with candy corn. Next I punched a cardstock circle to cover the top of the lid. I cut a cardstock tag and added a small strip of Washi Tape, a sticker and piece of twine to the tag. I finished by adding a piece of Washi tape to the jar. A perfect little gift for a friend!

Start saving those jars, wouldn't this be cute at Christmas with red and green m&m's!

Thanks for stopping by, we love to inspire!

Designer Spotlight - Kathy Martin

Happy Friday Love My Tape Friends!  I hope y'all have had a terrific week so far and your weekend is even better.

Today, we would like to feature Kathy Martin, a LMT Designer.  Kathy joined the design team in May and we have loved her designs ever since.  Let's get to know Kathy a little better.

How long have you been crafty? What got you started in creating ART?
I've always been into crafts. As a little girl I used to make cards with construction paper and as a young adult I did quite a bit of cross stitching. It wasn't until my son was born in 2001 that I got into paper crafting when I made his birth announcements.

What is a craft tool you can’t live without?
I can't live without my die cutters! I use them for almost every projects making titles and accents.

What is your favorite Love My Tapes product?
My favorite Love My Tapes product? Everything! I love the variety!

If you could create your own LMT product, what would it be?
If I could create my own Love My Tapes product it would be washi/vellum sheets. I love to apply washi to sheets of clear vellum to run through the die cutter.

What ‘old school’ product would you like to bring back?
The 'old school' product I'd like to bring back would have to be more of the metals like Making Memories used to make.

Please share a quirky fact about yourself.
A quirky fact about me would have to be that I don't like to chat on the phone. I like e-mail and face-to-face.

I don't know about you, but I love the washi/vellum sheet idea.  How cool would that be?

Thank you Kathy for sharing a little peek into your crafty life.
Thank y'all for stopping by!

A Spooky SItuation!

Happy almost Friday!!  :)  Happy Thursday, just doesn't sound all that awesome!!  But I do have an awesome Washi Tape to share with you today, that I used on a Halloween layout.  I knew that the black & white "lace" patterned Washi Tape would be perfect for a Halloween page.  I have held off using it, specifically for this layout.  Here is the layout I created, and then I'll tell you how I used the tape:

I thought the tape would look great placed behind a negative cut title.  I roughly measured the area for my title and cut it on my Expression.  Then, I took three strips of the Washi Tape and lined them all up on a white piece of cardstock.  After my title finished cutting, I just placed the Washi Tape piece behind it and then trimmed it down to the the size of my title spot!  Very easy and I love the way it looks behind the Orange chevron...definitely got that "spooky" effect I was going for!  This look could work for any of your tapes and layout themes, and it gives a little added interest to your title!  Another great idea for this technique would be for negative cut shapes...circles, triangles, or whatever you decide to create!

I also added in some of the Mint Green diagonal Washi...I think it just might be my favorite!!

Hello

Hello!

Kathy Martin here! One of the things I love about paper crafting is taking the time to sit down and play without an agenda. I like to do this when I have a bunch of extra pieces of paper and left over accents on my desk from various projects. It's fun to see if I can take all these things and make something fun like I did with the following card.

Washi tape makes the perfect accent for this kind of project!

This Kraft negative die was left over from a card I made and the 'hello' flag and pinwheel didn't make it onto other projects.

Sometimes when I'm digging through my paper scraps bin I notice a few papers that look good together and I start from there.

I keep a variety of washi tape colors and patterns on hand so that I always have a style or two that will work with my project. When I started purchasing tapes, I bought some neutrals first since they tend to go with about everything.

I hope you enjoyed my card and that you find some time to sit down and play.

October Challenge - Off the Page!

Hello and Happy Friday!

Tina here today with our October Challenge, Off the Page!

We wanted to get y'all thinking about ways to use washi, lace, and fabric tape in different ways, so what better way to 'step outta the box' then get Off the Page!

This months challenges is to create a project that takes you off the page.  No layouts, no cards!

Using washi, lace, and/or fabric tape, create a project that uses tape in a fun and innovative way!

To get you started, here's an Off the Page project I created with several LMT washi tapes.

I layered strips of several washi tapes on a piece of 12z12 cardstock for my base.

Using a die-cut machine, I cut a design on another piece of 12x12 cardstock and adhered it to the top of the tape sheet.

Doesn't that look great with the washi 'peeking out' from behind the die cut shape?  Super easy too!

Here are the details for the October Challenge.

1. Create an Off the Page project that uses tape in a fun and innovative way.

2. The challenge is open until October 26, 2012.

3. A randomly chosen winner will win some LMT goodies.

4. Link up your projects below.

Make sure and participate as I am looking for future Love My Tape Guest Designers. Link up your Challenge projects here and share your other LMT projects on our Facebook page.

Thanks for stopping by!

October Guest Designer - Annette Allen Pt.1

Happy Wednesday Love My Tape friends and crafty followers!  Tina here today with a special post.

I would like to introduce Annette Allen, our October Guest Designer.  She has created some awesome cards to share with you, but first, let's get to know Annette a little better.

I have been blessed with creativity and I am so grateful. I have been making cards for 16 years. I enjoy creating smiles and my cards are what brings people joy. What more could I ask for? I am so honored to have been asked to guest design for Love My Tapes and I hope that you enjoy my cards. I look forward to new friendship and I hope you will stop by my blog and say hi. Have a crafty day.

Annette is on several Design Teams, including:

You can also find Annette on her blog:  http://myclevercreations.blogspot.com
Here's what she has to say about her first Love My Tapes creation.
Hi everyone I am super excited to join you today for my first guest design post.
I have been hooked on Love My Tapes for a while now and can't get enough. I so love to create backgrounds instead of using designer paper I have been using Fabric, Lace and Washi Tape as my backgrounds on my cards and my fellow craft friends just love it. With all the fun patterns it is easy to do.

On this card I put strips of Lace Tape and then ran it through my Tim Holtz Vagabond with a Spellbinders die. It is easy to do and so addicting.

I hope that I have inspired you to try making your own background with Love My Tapes fabric, lace and/or washi tape. Have a crafty day. Thanks for stopping by.

Make sure and stop back later in the month when Annette shares another amazing project!
