Washi Canvas

Hello everyone, today I have a fun little mixed media canvas to share with you!

The first thing I did was cover the entire canvas (5x5) with Wood Grain Washi tape.  Once I had all the Washi tape on the canvas I added a coating of Ranger's Matte Multi Medium to seal it.  I did a little stamping around the edges for some extra texture.

With the background of my canvas ready I rummaged around my table (which is a total mess...LOL) for scraps.  I found this piece of cardboard which I had cut a heart out of for another project and decided it was perfect.  Inside the heart I added more Wahsi tape, and some of Ranger's Crackle Accents.

I added a layer of paper and Newsprint Fabric Sheet behind the cardboard heart, then a few more strips of Washi tape, a saying and called it done!

This was a fun little project to make, and I got to use up a few scraps while I was at it!

I hope this has given you a new idea how to use up all that beautiful Washi Tape!

Cool Washi Layout

Last week a package full of the new Washi tapes arrived on my door step!!  I think there's nothing better than happy scrappy mail, don't you?!

Of course I had to dive right in and have a little Washi fun creating this layout.

I used the different Washi tapes to add some pops of color to my layout, keeping most of the other elements neutral to match the sepia photo of my son Zach.

These tapes are so easy to use, just pull, tear & stick!  I hope this layout gives you a little inspiration to try them out!

Together forever....

Happy Monday everyone!  I can actually say this is a happy Monday since I'm off work all week while my kids are on spring break!!

I don't know if I'm the only one that finds there are not many photos of my husband and I together, or if this is normal! LOL  The few I have are self portrait style and not always flattering.  Hmm...I think it's time I teach the kids how to take a decent photo.

I did manage to dig out a photo of Mike & I that I love and used it to create this layout.

I used lots of varying strips from Fabric Sheets, Fabric Tape & the Lace Tape.  Because the photo had a lot of black I tried to keep the rest of the layout light with just bits of color, which kept the focus on the photo.

If you have any tips how to get my husband and I in more photos I'd love to hear them!

Keeping the love alive!

Since we're still in February the 'month of love' I have another Valentine's project to show you today.

I had some fun creating a mixed media canvas, using paints, sprays, ink and of course some of my Love My Tapes products!

Each heart was created either using one of the Fabric Sheets or by covering paper with some Lace Tapes.

The Fabric Sheets & Lace Tapes really added some great texture to the canvas!  I hope this will inspire you to think of ways that you can use your Love My Tapes projects off the page!

My Funny Valentine

Tomorrow is Valentine's day, do you have any special plans with a loved one?

To help get you in the loving mood I have a fun little Valentine's decoration I made.  I used the traditional pink for this project, but decided to add a little fun & whimsy with the Cow Print Fabric Sheet on the mannequin.

The inside of the arch is covered using the Hot Pink Suede Fabric Sheet, and the chipboard butterflies are covered with the Light Pink Snake Skin Fabric Sheet.  I love the different textures all these fabric sheets add to a project.  I also added a little strip of White Lace Tape to the bottom of the project.

I hope you enjoyed my project today, and maybe you feel inspired to go create something fun & romantic yourself!
