Pinspiration: Tape a Shape!

I am back today with a new layout based on another fun idea found on the Love My Tapes Crafty Inspiration Pinterest Board!!  I chose an adorable layout by Kim Arnold.  She used multiple tape patterns over heart shapes and placed them on her layout.  Such a cute idea.  I altered her idea a little bit, by using different tapes on 3 different hearts and grouping them together on my layout.

I used my Die Cut machine, to cut out my heart shapes first...you could also go old school and just cut out your hearts free hand!  After my shapes were cut, I just tore pieces of my Washi Tape and placed the pieces side by side overlapping the edges of the hearts.  Then, I cut the excess off around the shape of the heart.  You could also add your tape first and then cut your shape.  Just go with the method that works best for you.

Here's a look at Kim's adorable layout.  Love all of the different tapes she used on her hearts!

And the best part is, you could use this idea for a variety of shapes!  I hope you will play around and look for some new uses for your Washi Tape.  Maybe you will be our next source of Pinspiration!!

I Love My Tapes

Hello!

Kathy Martin here with a card share for you today. I Love My Tapes and one of my all time favorites is this 'With Love' style and the pretty polka dots that match.

I combined this fabulous tape with some Thickers alphabets, a felt heart, a little zigzag stitching and an old favorite, Doodlebug sequins that I topped with seed beads. Ah.....love.....'tis the season!

Enjoy

Hints & Tips and Nov. Challenge Winner!

Hi friends! It's Mary Ann here today with a card to share, and a hint for storing your washi tape.

First up, here's a fun little card where I used fabric tape to make the cute arrow embellishments.

Since the fabric tape has a paper backing, I actually drew my arrow on the back, then cut out.

And now for my washi tape storage hint...

I love using washi tape on my projects, but I don't like when I can't find the end of the roll, or struggle with peeling up the end of the tape. For those of you with acrylic nails, it's even harder to do. Here's a handy solution...

Add a Bread Twist Tag to the end of the roll! It makes it easy to spot the end of the roll, and easy to unroll the tape too.

Thank you to all the participants for our November Challenge - Sketches!  We loved seeing your creations!

The winner of the November Challenge is:

Julie Thibodeau!!

November Guest Designer - Ashli Oliver, Part Two

Hello and Happy Monday!  Today we have a treat for you as we share Part Two of shares from our November Guest Designer, Ashli Oliver.  Without further adieu....

Hi! Yep, you guessed it... Ashli here again. I have some more of that beautiful fabric tape and I am loving the "body" it has before the backing is peeled off. And, backed with some more washi wonderfulness and twirled up... we have a fun and unexpected embellishment for a layout.

Dear washi... I am SO crazy about you!

You do make a page so very special!

And combined with some scraps, we have a fun little page full of washi twirlies:

I have one more project up my sleeve!

For my last layout, I went to town ruffling and pleating this fun math washi. No extra adhesive needed, just unroll and stick.

Easy peasy! So easy that I went a little crazy and even made a Thank You card! ( I never make cards).

See, all this washi has gone to my head, I tell you! But, it's been so fun.

Thanks so very much for having me :)

No, THANK YOU Ashli for joining us this month.  We have completely enjoyed your creativity and passion for washi and decorative tape.  Please be sure and stop by Ashli's blog, PURPLEMAILBOX, and continue to be inspired.

Thank you for taking the time today!  Have a great day!

November Sketch Challenge

Hi friends!! We're almost to the end of November and have just a few days left for you to enter the November Sketch Challenge.  The sketch this month was made by our very own Design Team member Ashley, and can be used to for a layout or card : )  I really struggle with making cards, so I used the sketch to help me along.
I followed the basic design, keeping the square shape and adding the washi tape to the top left and bottom right corners.
I used the diagonal stripe paper instead of the paper strips, and replaced the arrows with some machine sewing. I love how my card turned out, and have an envelope all ready to send it off in today's mail!!

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to share your Sketch Challenge projects HERE. You could win some Love My Tapes goodies!!!
