Discover w/ Ange

Hey! Ange here today and I've got a fun layout for you.
This sketch from My Scraps & More was just screaming for Love My Tapes!
So I put them to work on it:

 And my layout:

I pulled out a white piece of cardstock, grabbed my tapes and got busy.

I followed the sketch with the Brick tape, but I used 2 layers side by side to make it wider. Then I added the Colorful Bold Dots tape. After getting those on I decided to go off the sketch a bit and added my third strip out on it's own.

I took the Sky or Clouds w/ Love tape and laid it out on my cutting mat. Then I used a ruler and my cutting knife to slice it the long way. I took the thin strips and added them in each square of my layout. I did beveled corners because I like the way they look.

To finish up, add some fun embellishments.
You can find all of these tapes and many, many more in the Love My Tapes store.
Thanks for stopping by!

November Sketch Challenge

Hi friends!! We're almost to the end of November and have just a few days left for you to enter the November Sketch Challenge.  The sketch this month was made by our very own Design Team member Ashley, and can be used to for a layout or card : )  I really struggle with making cards, so I used the sketch to help me along.
I followed the basic design, keeping the square shape and adding the washi tape to the top left and bottom right corners.
I used the diagonal stripe paper instead of the paper strips, and replaced the arrows with some machine sewing. I love how my card turned out, and have an envelope all ready to send it off in today's mail!!

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to share your Sketch Challenge projects HERE. You could win some Love My Tapes goodies!!!

November Challenge - Sketches!

Hello and Happy Monday!

Tina here today with our November Challenge, Sketches!

We all love sketches.  They are so versatile and can be used for inspiration in many ways.  You can use them exactly as the sketch outlines, or you can use bits and pieces of the sketch to make it all your own.

This months challenges is to create a layout or card that uses this sketch as inspiration.  Please let us know how you used the sketch and what inspired you.  (Sketch created by our very own Ashley Horton)

You must use washi, lace, and/or fabric tape on your layout/card (preferably from Love My Tapes - but not required), and use the sketch as your jumping off point!

To get you started, here's a layout I created using the sketch as inspiration!

I was inspired by the section behind the photos, so I die-cut a design and layered washi tape behind the open sections to add a subtle hint of color.

The following washi tapes were used:
Red/White Dot
Teal Diagonal
Yellow Stripe

Also, in place of the second photo, I added an area of embellishments.

I also loved the arrow accents, so I incorporated arrows throughout my layout.

Here are the details for the November Challenge.

1. Create a Layout or Card that used washi/lace/fabric tape in the above sketch.  Please let us know how you were inspired.
2. The challenge is open until November 25, 2012.
3. A randomly chosen winner will win some LMT goodies.

4. Link up your projects below.

Make sure and participate as I am continually looking for future Love My Tape Guest Designers. Link up your Challenge projects here and share your other LMT projects on our Facebook page.

Thanks for stopping by!

Love My Tapes Sketch Challenge #1

Hello my friends!! Giovana here. Are you ready for our first challenge of the year?? I hope you are. We are so excited to present to you challenges here and I hope you can play along with us. We are starting the new year with a fun challenge, this time is a Sketch! I drew it and JJ translated it into a real one :)

Here is the sketch:

and here is my card. I flipped the sketch so my label sentiment could have a better fit.
I used White and Light Pink Lace Tape Ribbon. I overlapped the ribbons. I adhered a piece of Pink/White Polka Dot Fabric Sheet onto a piece a cardstock. Then I stamped  the hearts direct on the fabric sheet, after that I cut them out and ink all edges. I adhered them to my panel with Medium pop dots, I added some Star Dust Stickles to give it a little bit of glitter.

Now, it's your turn to play the challenge. Create a project using the sketch and add your project to the comment section so we can check it out!!!

DEADLINE: Friday, January 27th, 8:00 pm EST. The winner will be announced on January 30th.
PRIZE: A box with some yummy Love My Tapes Products!!!

You don't need to use Love My Tapes products to play along, but if you have some, please include it in your project.

Hope you like it.
Have fun!!!
