Mixed Media Project Life Cards

Hey everyone, Katie here! Today I wanted to share how I made these fun, messy, mixed media project life cards using a washi tape background.

I started by just cutting cardstock into some 3x4" and 4x6" cards and then covered them in my favorite black and white tapes. I wanted to tone down the boldness of them though, so I also gave them a coat of gesso.

Next I took some Shimmerz sprays and added a bit of brightness to my cards.

After they dried, I used our adhesive runner to attach some transparencies (by MAMBI) over top of my cards. I was surprised (in a good way!) about how clear the adhesive was. This was the first time I'd used it under something clear and you couldn't even see it!

Grid Style Layout- Chimp Haven

Hey guys, Katie here! Today I wanted to share this layout I created using photos from a recent trip to Chimp Haven. I used some of my favorite tapes with some project life cards to create this grid style layout.

To get the grid look, I actually used a couple of strips of washi tape to make sure my cards and photos were straight. I forgot to take a photo of it though. ;)

I used the LMT adhesive to secure all of my photos and cards.

Today I also wanted to share with you guys these 2 easy cards I created using Love My Tapes. They're really simple, but cute. I just layered the tape in strips of cover a section of the card and added lace tape for further embellishment!

Black, White and Yellow Project Life

Hey everyone, Katie here! Today I'm sharing a recent project life spread I did using photos from our road trip to Arizona.

I wanted to mainly focus on the photos, so I didn't want a lot of crazy colors (even though I do love color). I decided to just stick with black, white and the yellow and orange of the sunset and mountains in my photos.

I went through my Love My Tapes stash and grabbed some of my favorite black and white tapes as well as the light yellow fabric tape, just to add a bit of color.

 

I used the washi tape as borders along the sides of my project life cards and my photos. It's such an easy way to add a bit of pattern to your photos without covering them up completely.

National Peach Month PL Cards

Hi everyone, Katie here today! Did you know it is national peach month? I love anything peach flavored!

I wanted to document my love of peaches, so I used a photo I posted on instagram of a peach milkshake and created these cards for Project Life.

I loved the technique Tessa used for coloring the lace tapes with gelatos, so I used some orangey and melon colored gelatos to tint my lace tapes to better match my cards.

I also used both a yellow and green fabric tape. I layered the yellow fabric tape with the lace tapes, but for the green fabric tape, I lined them up on paper and cut peach leaves out of it.

Do you love peach flavored things too? It's my second favorite flavor- right after pumpkin flavored things!

Patriotic Project Life Cards

Hi guys, Katie here! It's almost July! Do you have any fun plans for the 4th? I'll probably be watching fireworks, so I wanted to make some patriotic journaling cards to use in my project life album

I went through my tape and grabbed all the red, white and blue tapes and decided which ones I wanted to use. I thought the lace tape was pretty perfect!

I combined the tapes with 4th of July themed stamps and some gold spray mist to alter some project life cards.

While I had the tapes out, I also decided to make a fun 4th of July card to send out. I used the red flower tape to make a ruffled flower embellishment and used it as a sort of "straw topper" to add to my mason jar stamp.
