Upcycled Fourth of July Table Decor

Hello Love My Tapes friends. Marcia here today with a festive Fourth of July picnic caddy that I created with upcycled toilet paper rolls, a paper towel roll, and a wine cooler cardboard caddy. I am planning an extended family BBQ and really wanted to create some picnic caddies for my tables that could hold spoons, forks, napkins, and some sparklers. After all, what's a Fourth of July picnic without some fireworks :)

The Americana collection from Pebbles was perfect for covering up the cardboard tubes and the wine cooler caddy after I painted it white. I used a couple different rolls of red, white, and blue washi tape to cover the rods I used to support my rockets. It's much more festive with the washi.

I also used the blue star washi to jazz up my caddy.

I think these are going to be a huge hit at the party!!

Create a Gallery Wall Look with Tapes

Hello! Tessa Buys here with another idea for using tapes on a layout. One day, long ago, I picked up the most adorable lace frame stickers at my local craft store. I quickly used them up and couldn't find more. As soon as I saw lace tapes, I realized I could recreate those same frames. The technique has become one of my favorites for all kinds of tape, and the result is a fabulous gallery wall look on my layouts:

In this layout, I used lace tape, glitter tape and fabric tape to create my frames. To make the lace frame pictured here, first trace your photo onto your layout where you would like to place it. Then, apply one side of your frame at a time, slightly crossing over your traced line. When the frame is complete, adhere your photo. You may need to use dimensional adhesive because of the dimension of the lace tape.

To make the glitter and fabric frames, first adhere your photo to your layout. Next, apply each side of your frame, overlapping the photo. For my glitter tape frame, I made all the sides equal in length.

For a different look, I made two sides of my fabric frame longer than the other sides.

The next time you'd like to use frames on a layout, don't forget about tapes! From washi to lace, fabric to glitter, they all make a great gallery wall.

Floral Boot Tool Caddy with Dana Tatar

Hi Love My Tapes fans! Dana here today. I recently moved and am working on personalizing my new craft space. I have a pair of floral print Dr. Martens boots that are totally me; the perfect combination of tough and pretty! I picked up this wooden shoe during my latest trip to my favorite discount store and had a lot of fun altering it with floral print paper. This shoe caddy is my new favorite storage piece, holding the supplies that I use time and time again.

I embellished the toe with some buttons and flair. Love My Tapes fabric and lace tapes were the perfect way to alter the curved sides of this boot. I always struggle with adhering patterned paper to curved surfaces, so tape was the perfect solution! I used the fun polka dot fabric tape down the front of the shoe, under the laces. I added the pink lace tape around the outer edge of this piece for a soft feminine finish.

The Fault in Our Stars layout using Ribbon Tape

Hello, Love My Tapes fans!

This is Maya and today I am going to share a layout I made using the ribbon roll tape.
One of the perks of being a mom to a teenage girl is that you get to read great books and go to awesome movies that otherwise you would not necessarily go to. Last Thursday I went with my 15 years old to the movie premier of "The Fault in Our Stars". It was a special screening that was called "The Night Before Our Stars" and followed by the live Q&A with the author and the cast.

I had two bad phone pictures from the event, one before the movie started and one after the movie and I also had a tag from the commemorative bracelet and our ticket stubs. Definitely enough for a layout. 

I picked beautiful Love My Tapes ribbon tape. It is called "Flora S. Green" but actually it is very dark green, almost black, with tiny silver stars. Perfect!

I added two ribbon strips under the pictures and also made the famous speech bubbles shapes by covering a piece of cardstock with ribbon and just cutting out the shape with the scissors.

I added few acrylic and punched stars and sprinkled gold sequins. Few small pieces of gold washi tape define the corners of the photos.

A Father's Day Card with Fabric Tape

Hello Love My Tapes friends. Marcia here today with a Father's Day card to share that I created using 3 different coordinating fabric tapes. If you are unfamiliar with fabric tape, it is strips of fabric with adhesive on one side.  The fabric tapes will give your projects some wonderful texture. Using washi or fabric tape to create a background can be a quick and easy way to create a card. I added some paper scraps and stickers to finish it off.

I also created this layout for Creative Scrappers using my Blue Star washi tape again and just have to share it here too. This washi tape is perfect for those Fourth of July photos you have.

I love that the washi tape lets the background paper show through ...

Hipster Cards

Hey everyone! Katie here today sharing these 2 cards I created with a "hipster style". I combined the Hipster line by Basic Grey with a few fun Love My Tapes. The Mustache/Top Hat tape went really well with the look I was going for.

I used the color scheme above for my cards.

A fun idea for a card is to put your washi tape on a slant. It really gives the eye something to look at and is a neat design. I used the red flower tape and the black tape on this Father's day card. 

On my "Hello There" card I used the stylish mustache washi tape as well as the other 2 tapes. The red, yellow, black color scheme definitely makes me think Hipster.
