Fun Father's Day Gift using LMT Washi Tape

Hi everyone!

Lynn here today.  Hope you are all doing well :)

With Father's Day right around the corner, I thought I would created a unique gift using some of the wonderful tapes available at the LMT Etsy Store.

I used washi tape around all the edges and matted each section with washi tape.

I am super excited at how it turned out and the kids can't wait to give it to hubby tomorrow.

This project was easy and fun to create.  I couldn't have done it without my washi tape :D

A Father's Day Card with Fabric Tape

Hello Love My Tapes friends. Marcia here today with a Father's Day card to share that I created using 3 different coordinating fabric tapes. If you are unfamiliar with fabric tape, it is strips of fabric with adhesive on one side.  The fabric tapes will give your projects some wonderful texture. Using washi or fabric tape to create a background can be a quick and easy way to create a card. I added some paper scraps and stickers to finish it off.

I also created this layout for Creative Scrappers using my Blue Star washi tape again and just have to share it here too. This washi tape is perfect for those Fourth of July photos you have.

Cards with Washi

Hello Love My Tapes friends! Marcia here today with a couple of cards to share with you. I couldn't help but make a patriotic card for Memorial Day when I saw this blue starred washi tape. It will be great for those 4th of July projects too.

I few strips here and there on the background really jazzed up this card.

I am also starting to think ahead to Father's Day so I made a card for my Dad. He loves to play cards (Euchre and 500 are his games) and a few of the black washi tapes worked wonders to create a background for me. One of these tapes has hearts on it and the other one has crowns. I alternated them on a piece of white cardstock. I then used my Silhouette to cut this diamond overlay from another sheet of cardstock and adhered that over the top of my washi. Trim off the excess on the edges.

Here is how my card turned out ...

I love the look of the washi in the negative space on the background!

Washi bow and neck ties

Happy Monday, Love My Tapes friends! It's Jaclyn here today, to share some quick and easy cards that I've made with the upcoming holiday in mind ...  Father's Day!  What doesn't scream Dad, then a colorful array of neck and/or bow ties.  For even more fun, I've constructed these ties out of washi tape!

The ingredients to put these cards together are simple - a colorful stash of tape, cardstock, foam adhesive,  and scissors.  I'll even walk you through the simple steps to create the ties.

 

Let's start with the bowties.  Cover a scrap of cardstock with your chosen tape and cut along the edges, trimming off the excess cardstock and leaving just the strip of tape behind.

Fold in both sides of the tape strip, curving around a pencil to allow for smooth circular edges, as shown.  Secure the ends of the piece cutting off any excess tape.

Add a foam adhesive square to the center of your bow, and use a leftover scrap of the 'paper tape' to wrap around and complete the center of the bow.

 

 

Quick and easy, huh?  It'll take you no time to whip up several of these and adorn a sweet card for the men in your life. 

 

Now, maybe your Dad is more of a necktie type of guy.  If so, those can easily be constructed out of tape as well!

 

 

 



 Start by covering a scrap piece of cardstock with tape, again.  This time rather than simply trimming the 'paper tape' into a strip - notch the bottom and angle the sides to create the shape of a necktie, as shown.

 

Use a small remaining piece of the 'paper tape' to fold the neckties 'knot', securing it with foam adhesive to create dimension.

 



It's easy as can be and within no time, you'll have an array of ties to decorate cards, tags or even gifts for the special Dads in your life!
