Washi Tape Bubble Cap Embellishments

Hi Love My Tapes fans! Dana here today sharing a piece of family history. I was so inspired by Tessa's Fabric Tape-Bound Mini Album that I had to make one for myself! A family member posted this photo and some of the history about it on facebook. I know almost nothing about the older generations of my family so this find was a real treat.

I followed Tessa's instructions to assemble this album and then filled it with information, photos and some washi tape bubble cap embellishments that I put together with my Epiphany Crafts Shape Tool.

Mustache Charm Necklace

Hi Love My Tapes fans! Dana here today sharing a super fun mustache necklace. I created this trendy piece in less than 5 minutes. A quick and easy craft like this would make a great gift. Try making two of the same for friendship necklaces!

I used my Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Shape Tool and coordinating Bubble Caps and Metal Charms. I placed a small strip of washi tape on a scrap piece of white cardstock, centered a mustache in the shape tool, topped with a bubble cap and punched. I then popped the bubble cap into a metal charm. With no messy glues or glazes, no smelly resins or epoxies to mix, and no drying time, I'll be using my washi tape with these supplies again soon!

Washi Tape Covered Pencils

Hi Love My Tapes fans! Dana here sharing some washi tape covered pencils that are sure to go straight to the head of the class. My daughters are headed back to school in a couple of weeks and we thought it would be fun to dress up some pencils for the upcoming school year.

I chose colorful patterned pencils to cover with tape. Several of the Love My Tapes washi tapes with white in the design are semi-translucent, so the color shows through the tape for a cool effect. I used two different patterns of tape for each pencil and then covered the seam with lace tape. This project was quick and fun and I didn't need any additional adhesive! Also, the washi tape is thin enough to not effect sharpening in any way.

I have a feeling I'll be dressing up more pencils for their friends! Thanks for stopping by today!

Washi Tape Bracelets with Dana

Hi! Dana here today sharing some more bracelets that I created with Washi Tape. Unlike my last bracelet that used paper, wire and beads along with washi tape, these bracelets are 100% washi tape and are so simple to create that I made mine while sitting poolside!

If you have ever made a chain out of Starburst candy wrappers, you are already familiar with this folding technique. I cut pieces of washi tape to 2 and 5/8 inches, folded them and linked them together. This project was fun and easy to create, and with the wide range of Love My Tapes washi tape designs, highly personable to individual tastes. I scored some major points with my young daughters with these mustache bracelets.

Washi Bead Bracelet with Dana

Hi Love My Tapes Fans! Dana here today sharing a bracelet that I put together with some washi beads that I made with cardstock and washi tape. This project was fun and easy to create, and with the wide range of Love My Tapes washi tape designs, highly personable to individual tastes.

I didn't want use too much of my washi stash to create this project, so I made the beads from strips of cardstock that I cut the width of the washi tape. Once I rolled the cardstock into beads, I used washi tape to hold the paper beads together. I love that the washi tape acts as both an adhesive and as a colorful design element!

I strung my washi beads onto a piece of wire, separating each paper bead with two glass pony beads. I modeled my beads after a design tutorial by BeyondBracelets. Check out her YouTube Challenge for more fantastic videos.

Embossed Fabric Tape with Dana Tatar

Hi Love My Tapes fans! Dana here today sharing a patriotic invitation that I created for my upcoming Independence Day celebration. I have a great roll of blue and white striped Love My Tapes fabric tape that was perfect for this holiday card.

I really wanted to kick this clean and simple card design up a notch, so I embossed some glittery red stars onto my fabric tape. My card now has that festive finish I was looking for.

Adorable Baby Photo Clip by Dana Tatar

Hi Love My Tapes fans! Dana here today sharing a photo clip. I have several large patterned clips in my stash that I'm not too crazy about. I dressed one clip up with some fabric tape and can now see myself quickly going through the rest of my clips!

When I saw the Love My Tapes star-patterned fabric tape I immediately thought *baby.* I gathered a favorite baby photo of my niece, a handful of embellishments and a roll of fabric tape to create this photo clip in a snap.

Love My Tapes has a wonderful selection of patterned washi and fabric tapes so personalizing clips is fun and easy. I have my clip sitting on my desk, but could just as easily display this piece on a bookshelf or side table. I think this clip would also make a fantastic (and inexpensive) gift.

Remember When Mini Album with Dana Tatar

Hi Love My Tapes fans! Dana here today sharing a fun mini album that features some of my favorite vintage family photos. I love to create mini albums using random photos, so each page is a surprise. I think that family members who flip through the pages of this album will say, 'I remember this' more than once. I added a lot of height to the front cover, layering stickers, rhinestones and a flower. For the inside pages, where height is restricted, I added strips of pattern and color with washi tape.

I used washi tape on the first two pages to hold down my photos. I also used washi tape to add a fun pattern to a piece of solid cardstock. Aren't the mustaches fantastic?!

I love to use washi tape just like a piece of patterned paper. I cut pieces of tape into small pennants and tucked them under my photos.

I chose several rolls of washi tape in colors that coordinated with the patterned papers I used for this album. Tape allowed me to add a lot of pattern and color to my album pages without the bulk.

Floral Boot Tool Caddy with Dana Tatar

Hi Love My Tapes fans! Dana here today. I recently moved and am working on personalizing my new craft space. I have a pair of floral print Dr. Martens boots that are totally me; the perfect combination of tough and pretty! I picked up this wooden shoe during my latest trip to my favorite discount store and had a lot of fun altering it with floral print paper. This shoe caddy is my new favorite storage piece, holding the supplies that I use time and time again.

I embellished the toe with some buttons and flair. Love My Tapes fabric and lace tapes were the perfect way to alter the curved sides of this boot. I always struggle with adhering patterned paper to curved surfaces, so tape was the perfect solution! I used the fun polka dot fabric tape down the front of the shoe, under the laces. I added the pink lace tape around the outer edge of this piece for a soft feminine finish.

Washi Tape Dress Card

Hi Love My Tapes fans! Dana Tatar here today sharing a card that I created using washi tape in a super fun way. The dress on this card is made with washi tape! My daughter has a Tapeffiti fashion design set and I borrowed one of those patterns to help create this dress.

Using washi tape in this way is really fun! Creating a 3D washi dress for projects is quick and easy.

Step One: Choose a small dress pattern (many can be found online for free) or draw your own.

Step Two: Cut the dress pattern out, cover the pattern with washi tape and smooth with a burnisher.

Step Three: Trim any overhanging tape from the edges of the pattern and tape the dress together.

Step Four: Add the dress to an embellished card base.

That's all there is to it! The wide selection of Love My Tapes washi designs will keep me creating fashionable dresses for quite some time! I think I'll try adding a lace tape trim to the bottom of my next skirt.

Fabric Tape Rose Mini Book with Dana Tatar

Hi Love My Tapes fans! Dana here today sharing a fun-sized mini book. I used fabric tape and lace tape for this project. The pretty pink trim peeking from under the front cover of this book is lace tape. I'm thrilled to have this tape in my crafty arsenal! Adding this fantastic piece of trim to my book was quick and easy. The adhesive backing of this lace tape allowed me to dress up my project without the messy drying time of a liquid glue.

I crafted this rose with fabric tape! To start, I cut about 20 1-inch pieces of fabric tape. To create the rose petals, I folded the top corners of each piece of the tape down (See photo below). This left the center and bottom portions of the adhesive back uncovered. I then wound each petal around a paper piercing tool. The uncovered adhesive portions of the petals secured the bloom as I worked.

Notice the blue tape in the photo. This is the tape I used to create my rose. I wanted a bold pop of color for the cover of my book, so once my bloom was complete I sprayed it with mist. The fabric tape really grabs color in a fabulous way!

Love My Tapes Designer Introduction - Dana Tatar

Hi Love My Tapes fans! Dana Tatar here today to introduce myself. I'm absolutely thrilled that Love My Tapes is back and that I get to share my designs with you!

I have had many hobbies over the years, but scrapping is the one that really gives me satisfaction. I started scrapbooking to preserve memories and now I enjoy the creative outlet. I love to mix products from different collections on my projects and I frequently find inspiration in music, poetry and pop culture. I love fussy cutting and flowers and both can be seen on the majority of my projects. I also like to work with canvas, fabric, chipboard and tape.

My dominant scrappy styles are clean and simple and pretty chic, but I do like to mix things up a bit, depending on the paper or photos I want to use. I'm an active blogger and I like to share my tips and ideas and try new things.

I dressed up this simple white frame with embossed strips of fabric tape that I colored with Distress Ink. This frame makeover was quick, easy and fun!

I love to use tape on my mixed media pieces to add fun designs and to hold items down. The book print tape I used on this artist trading card adds a fun print but not a lot of bulk. I share a product review and partial tutorial for this project on my blog.
