Diecutting Washi Tape

Hi everyone, Katie here! Today I'm sharing this cute card + a fun technique that I've learned. I used the LMT tape runners to adhere my paper and vellum down on to my card base. Then I added a bit of watercolor and 2 strips of the yellow plaid fabric tape. After that, I needed a sentiment, so I used the black polka dot washi tape and my Brother ScanNCut diecut machine to create one. Scroll down to see how!

1.  Place strips of washi onto a piece of white cardstock, lining them up.
2. Place the cardstock down onto your diecut mat, load it into your machine and cut out your design.
3. Adhere your sentiment down onto your card.

Have you ever diecut washi tape like this? It's a fun technique! If you don't have an electric diecutter, you could trace a design onto the back of the cardstock, and cut it out by hand.

She Said Yes

Hello Love My Tapes friends. Marcia here with my first layout for Love My Tapes! I received some fabulous rolls of washi tape, fabric tape, and lace tape to design with, but a couple rolls just jumped out for me. I was ecstatic to find some engagement/wedding washi tape! I had the perfect photo for that washi tape too. I've been wanting to scrap this photo since Christmas when my daughter and her boyfriend announced their engagement.

I have been having a love affair with vellum and sequins in addition to my washi love affair. I just can't help myself. Check out this gorgeous washi tape! You can see that engagement/wedding washi in the first close-up and again in the lower left corner of my main photo (It says "Will you marry me?"). I also used an intricate black washi that had hearts in the middle. With the red and white, the pop of black really draws your eye right to that photo.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't you just love these washi tapes too :)

A layout and a card with piano keys washi tape

Hello Love My Tapes fan! It's Maya here and I am very excited to share my first project for Love My Tapes.

I was very happy to find this adorable piano keys washi tape in my design team package this month.

I immediately thought about all the choir concerts I attended in the last few years. I pulled out few pictures from my daughter's last choir concert and went to work. I paired the piano keys tape with the gold washi tape and pastel green lace adhesive tape.

I used Silhouette Cameo to cut a grand piano shape from black cardstock and used the washi tape for the piano keys.

I added few more strips of piano and gold tapes on the left of the photos and two more gold pieces in the corners of the photos. They serve as photo corners and a background for the date.

I covered a wood heart embellishment from Unique Laser Designs with two overlapping strips of gold tape and one piece of piano tape in the center. I carefully cut the excess tape with micro-tip scissors.
The lace tape fits perfectly into the theme, gives another layer of texture and serves as vertical anchor for the photos.

I really loved how the piano keys washi tape looked with piano shape and decided to make a card. I used the shape from the Silhouette online store but instead of cutting the keys from cardstock I used the washi tape with white cardstock underneath.

I added flowers from my stash to the top of the card and music note paper to the inside of the card.

The sentiment is designed in Silhouette Studio and cut from adhesive vinyl. This card with be a perfect gift for my daughter's music teacher. I can't wait to make more!

Thanks for stopping by and I would love to hear what do you think. Have a wonderful day!

Love My Tapes Video Designer - Jenny Johnson

Hi Everybody!
I'm Jenny Johnson, better known as Crazy About Cricut.  Here’s a little bit about me.  I created my blog a few years ago, Crazy About Cricut. A bit later I also started a YouTube channel, Facebook page, and Twitter page. I was also lucky enough to be published in a Cricut Expression idea book!

I have been crafting for over 10 years, but I REALLY got into it when I got my Cricut.  I’ve also since added other die cut machines to my crafting arsenal. I am mainly a papercrafter, but definitely don't limit myself to cards and layouts. I have 4 younger kids, so I like to make things that I can use, that are off the page, and also help save money!  I've made centerpieces, home decor, wall art, cupcake holders, shirts, albums, and of course invitations just to name a few things.  I am passionate (both about my crafting and crafting supplies!!), creative, and I like to think outside the box. Like so many others, I have an addiction to washi tape, and I like to get people inspired on how to use it!

And what would an introduction of a video designer be without a video??!!  Here's my first Love My Tape video, enjoy!!

TFL, and hope everyone has a chance to craft today :)
