Party Hat Blossoms

Charity here from Scrappin' Chaos.

I believe a lady always needs a party hat! 

If she makes it herself it can be as bright and flowery as she likes.

This hat was finished in just a couple hours.

~ Bloom ~

 To begin I made double sided strips of washi tape. The wide pink and the postal print I backed with black floral tape. For the pink and white washi I just used the same tape.

 The Pink flower and the Postal print flowers were made using individual loops. The tape was flexible yet solid. I stitched the ends together at the middle.
The small pink flowers are rolled ribbon roses.

There are several excellent tutorials on making ribbon roses posted on the internet. Double side your washi tape and get started making flowers!

Ruby Slippers

Welcome back to the Love My Tapes Blog!

Charity here from Scrappin' Chaos with a summer sandal layout. 

 The main colors of this layout are red and craft.
I used washi tape to add pattern and color.

 

 Under the photo mat I looped black floral washi tape.

On either side of the cascade of red blossoms I used green filigree washi tape for leaves. To form the leaves I doubled the washi tape, shaped a loop, and used hot glue to tack it down.

Butterflies and Flowers

Hello!
 Charity from Scrappin' Chaos with you today.
This spring fresh card has a band of washi tape in the middle with detailed border strips on each end.

To make the border strips I stretched my washi on a paper scrap,
punched the design, trimmed the edge,

then peeled and stuck the washi border just like a band-aid!

I love how easy it is to add detail to my cards using a bright strip of washi tape!

Got Mud? layout

Hi, Ange here today!

I am super excited to be sharing my first layout using Love My Tapes with you.

Got Mud?

We live in Idaho, so the closest thing we have to a beach is a little less sandy and a bit more muddy, but it's still a great place to take the kids in the summer.

I started with a plain white background, added some misting and my mud paper from Moxxie, then got busy with my brand NEW tapes!!
I started with a mat for my photo. I used Black Roses to make a frame under the photo.

I knew I had this fun yellow stripes tape so I planned to add a sun with rays in the upper corner. I just tore off a piece of tape, then cut it lengthwise and randomly added the pieces over the yellow misted area. Some were a little longer than I wanted so I just tore a bit off. Then I added my sun with foam adhesive to pop it off.

For my clouds I actually pulled out a chipboard cloud I've had hanging around for way too long. One side was colorfully decorated and the other was a plain blue. I took the strips of Clouds with Love tape and layered them onto the blue side of the cloud. Then I just trimmed the edges with my scissors. After deciding I needed more clouds, I layered the tape onto some scrap paper and then did my best to cut out clouds that "matched".

Last I cut individual cameras from the Camera tape and then pieces of the Colorful Chevron tape to use on my layout for direction. This is my favorite way to use chevron designs!
I used the double sided adhesive tape on my entire layout and I really love how it rolls on, it holds really well too.

LUCKY Banner

Hello, Charity here with a Spring Banner.

The fun green colors of St. Patrick's Day combined with flowers and butterflies makes for uplifting décor.

The U banner has diamond spaces cut into the shamrock background. For a bright splash of color I added strips of Pink, Blue, and Green washi.

 The C banner has a wandering vine of scrunched washi. On a few of the pieces a got a little carried away and had to tack them down with adhesive!

The K banner has bright butterflies flitting across it.

To make the butterflies I layered stripes of Washi on patterned paper then used a shape punch.

When I had finished with the banner pieces I framed the letter tags with washi.
